Identity Politics Books
Identity politics involves "a wide range of political activity and theorizing founded in the shared experiences of injustice of members of certain social groups." Despite a surge of social movements throughout the past century, there are still many groups of people that face discrimination based on their ethnicity, gender, religion, social class, and other identifying features. Even in developed nations with laws prohibiting identity-based discrimination, many subtle forms of prejudice remain. Movements that seek to integrate these marginalized groups into society are necessary to create a world in which all people are treated and represented equally.
