YORK CITY - Students in the Human Rights Program at Columbia
University gathered together on March 1st, 2005, to learn more
about the Student World Assembly. SWA International staff members
presented its mission, the democratic process on which it is based,
and the recent and upcoming chapter events. The attending students
showed an enthusiastic interest in establishing a new chapter
at Columbia.
The Human Rights Program is one of the nine functional concentrations
in the Masters of International Affairs (MIA) degree at the School
of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). The concentration
offers a range of interdisciplinary approaches to human rights
which build on the MIA core curriculum in international politics,
economics and statistics.
