SWA joins Amnesty International Rally to Support Human Rights in Iran
Manhattan, New York | June 8, 2011
Student World Assembly joined Amnesty International, as well as a few Hollywood luminaries at the Iran Mission to the United Nations to protest human rights abuses in Iran.  Trudi Styler, actor Griffin Dunne, Academy Award winner Paul Haggis, and actress Nazanin Boniadi accompanied Amnesty International USA Executive Director Larry Cox to present tens of thousands of signatures demanding the reversal of the severe sentence imposed on filmmakers, Jafar Panahi and Mohammad Rasoulof and to support freedom of expression and other civil liberties in Iran.

The differing options between these two options creates tension and even violence within the camps. Living situations like this make it difficult for refugee children to continue their studies.
