Mark Lupisella, NASA Engineer & Co-founder of Horizons Project
 

Mark Lupisella is a NASA engineer and researcher at the Goddard Space Flight Center. He has a B.S. in physics, a masters degree in philosophy (emphasis in philosophy of science), and a Ph.D. in biology in progress (program in behavior, evolution, ecology, and systematics, dissertation on modeling microbial contamination of Mars from a human mission) all at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Mark was a Hubble Space Telescope systems engineer and software development manager for 7 years and has since been involved in other engineering efforts (e.g. started a wearable computer project) and areas of astrobiology such as contamination research regarding a human mission to Mars, artificial life, the search for extraterrestrial life using cooperative robotics, and broader societal issues such as ethics and worldviews.
