On
Thursday January 27th, the Student World Assembly Chapter
at McGill
University held its first regional event in the form of a panel
discussion on the pressing global issue of nuclear proliferation
in the troubled region of the Middle East. More than two-hundred
interested students, faculty members, and guests participated
in the event.
Members of the Student World Assembly Chapter at Ottawa University
also took part in the event. After listening to an impressive
panel comprised of Prof. Farhang Rajaee (Carleton University),
Houchang Hasan-Yari (Royal Military College), Prof. James Devine
(McGill University) and Prof. Reza Fakhari (CUNY), participants
were able to engage in the dialogue by posing questions and comments
to the panelists in the Q&A session.
Following the Event a Dinner Reception was held for invited guests
and members of the Student World Assembly at Le Cavue Restaurant.
A brief
presentation on the Student World Assembly was made for the invited
guests. Afterwards Mr. Paul Raynault addressed the crowd.
We wish to thank all the organizers of this event for an exemplary
effort. Thank you!
