Launch of SWA Chapter

Students at the International Pacific College (IPC) in Palmerston
North, New Zealand, established an

SWA Chapter in a luncheon meeting on August 26th, 2004. Evie Aitcheson, who attended the SWA 2004 International Convention in California, took the leading role in presenting the idea to a meeting of faculty and staff yesterday and to the assembled students today. She was unanimously elected the President of the Chapter.

The luncheon was sponsored by President John Fanselow of IPC who is an Honorary Advisory Board Member of the SWA. Dr. Reza Fakhari, Academic Advisor of the SWA, who is a visiting professor at IPC, assisted in the founding of the Chapter,

which hopes to become the Pacific Hub of the SWA. The Chapter is co-sponsoring two lectures by Dr. Fakhari on world affairs to the faculty, staff, students and community on August 31st and September 3rd.
