On December 6, 2004, the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria launched an SWA chapter. Onuoha Chukwuma, Regional Representative for SWA Nigeria, attended to offer remarks on behalf of SWA International.

The chapter presented a cultural dance group from Rivers States and listened to an address from the acting chapter president. The 40 new student members displayed great enthusiasm for the organization and discussed the many ways in which they may join the efforts to promote global democracy in Africa through SWA.

The chapter recognized Professor C.C. Osuagwu, faculty advisor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka Chapter, for taking time from his busy schedule to show his support.
