On January 11th 2005, the
newly-established Student World Assembly Chapter at McGill
University organized a "samosa sale" fundraising event in
order to raise funds for the Tsunami relief effort
undertaken by the international community. The Chapter was
able to raise a considerable sum in the hour-long
fundraiser. Members of the Executive Body of the Chapter
decided to hand-over the funds to another club at McGill,
Friends of Thailand, which had arranged for funds to go over
to Tsunami struck areas in the country directly.
The SWA Chapter at McGill wishes to thank all those who
supported the fundraiser and made it possible through their
