SWA
is presented as a case study in promoting globalism
among students in the prestigious Salzburg Seminar
in July 2004

SWA
Academic Advisor, Dr. M. Reza Fakhari, was an invited
Faculty presenter for the “Community Colleges
as Sites of Global Citizenship,” a week-long
conference held by the Salzburg Seminar in Salzburg,
Austria. Dr. Fakhari presented the SWA as a creative
attempt at promoting globalism among world’s
students and creating a forum for the American students
“to listen to the world”-- a global citizenship
imperative at this critical time.
The
Salzburg Seminar (www.salzburgseminar.org)
is a leading forum for promoting global dialogue on
issues of pressing international concern. Founded
in 1947, the Seminar is dedicated to promoting the
free exchange of ideas, viewpoints, and understanding
in a neutral, cross-cultural environment. Situated
in Schloss Leopoldskron, an 18th century rococo palace
in Salzburg, the Seminar regularly brings together
future leaders from government, business, academia,
and the independent sector for week-long sessions
of intense discussion and debate.
