PURPOSE OF THE
INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEES
The aim of the international committees is to discuss and propose
new ideas and guidelines for the SWA Managing Team to consider
in the affairs of the SWA. Members of each committee will elect
a chair person who will report to the Assembly Speaker and Vice-Speaker
on the activities of the committees. Committees will be supervised
by the Co-Executive Directors of the Student World Assembly.
Membership and Outreach Committee
The purpose of this committee shall be to establish the guidelines
and procedures for membership and publicity activities for the
SWA.
Membership
This committee will establish and carry out the procedures for
recruiting, registering and supporting SWA members. The coordinators
and committee members shall work together to address membership
concerns on local, regional and international levels. Delegates
shall have the opportunity to raise concerns and/or ask questions
based on their experiences. Guidelines and procedures must be
established for recruiting, registering and supporting individual
members, chapters and regional centers.
Outreach
This committee will to establish guidelines regarding the Publicity
Procedures. This committee will address legal issues, methods
for seeking out the most beneficial publicity through the mass
media, and other ways to promote the mission of SWA.
Convention and Event Planning Committee
The purpose of this committee shall be to establish guidelines
and procedures for general event planning and coordination of
the annual convention. Areas such as registration, lectures, workshops,
room and board, and social activities will have basic guidelines
and procedures, and one person will be elected based on interest
and skills to oversee each area.
Convention
The members of this committee shall establish a timeline to ensure
that all tasks are completed satisfactorily to host a successful
convention. In addition, a breakdown of all necessary tasks shall
be developed as a guideline for future conventions.
Event Planning
Event Planning will consist of similar tasks to the convention
planning but on a smaller scale. The committee will establish
general guidelines and procedures for organizing and executing
all local, regional and international SWA events.
Issues and Campaigns Committee
This committee will include the SWA Academic Advisors. The purpose
of this committee is to create and maintain an organized system
of information, activities and field experts regarding the priority
issues of the SWA.
Issues
This committee is responsible for establishing guidelines and
procedures for presenting, discussing and researching the issues
presented and selected by SWA members.
Campaigns
This committee is responsible for establishing guidelines and
procedures for elections and proxy voting.
