SWA is a great organization that’s making a serious
impact around the world. The work environment here is very
supportive and interactive; we are constantly seeking feedback
from our co-workers in order to put forward the best effort
possible. It is very rewarding to work in a small environment
in which each person can truly make a difference, and to
know that the work you’re performing is helping to
create a shift in global attitudes beneficial to human life
and integrity. Working in this office has shown me that
a relatively small number of committed people can make a
huge difference.

The work environment at SWA is extremely motivating. We
feed on one another's passion. Everybody's opinion and efforts
are recognized and appreciated, which stimulates us to do
our best. The leadership sets clear guidelines, while at
the same time leaving plenty of room for creativity and
self-initiative. It is a fun-filled environment, in which
we are not just colleagues, but also good friends, mutual
mentors, and fundamentally - one another's inspiration.

SWA considers each of its interns an important part of
the organization and encourages them all to express their
thoughts and develop their skills. I was very motivated,
not only by my coworkers, but also by the members, who are
all passionate about making a difference. Working for SWA,
I have been able to contribute to an organization that gives
students around the world the opportunity to take action
on problems with a global impact.”

My favorite part of working with SWA was meeting all the
other interns. During my semester with SWA we had interns
from Asia, Europe, and South America, which made working
in the office very interesting. Everyone brings their own
experiences and knowledge to the office where we are able
to collaborate on new and exciting projects and make some
great progress for the organization. The SWA office is a
wonderful environment to work in, and you can't help but
gain incredibly valuable experience just by being there.

I love working for SWA because the driving philosophy
behind this organization has broad appeal and the potential
to reach students in every area of the world. I knew very
little of how non-profts functioned before I began my internship;
now, I have a clear sense of the work that is involved in
starting, maintaining, and improving a non-profit organization,
such as SWA. This experience has helped shape and affirm
my future career goals; I am now positive that I want to
pursue a masters degree in International Relations.

The SWA office is a very positive atmosphere in which to
work. Everyone is passionate about working here and the
work environment reflects that attitude. The experience
I’ve gained working for a non-governmental organization
is invaluable. It is exciting to be part of a growing organization
with so much potential.

The most valuable things that I got from my internship
with SWA were the experience of learning how a growing NGO
operates and meeting many students who are enthusiastic
about changing the world and promoting the organization.
SWA is a unique and interesting organization, which will
greatly develop in the near future, encouraging even more
students around the world to take actions. I'm very impressed
by members' everyday efforts and their awareness of global
issues.

SWA has opened my eyes to what it really means to work
in an NGO. College can only teach you so much, and my education
would have been incomplete without this experience. Everyone
in this office is very open-minded; despite certain difficulties,
everyone valued what I was able to offer as an international
student. It is very encouraging to see that there are so
many others out there working to enact progressive change
around the world.

I love SWA, and I am glad that I had the opportunity to
complete my service learning program here. The most valuable
thing I’ve gotten out of this experience is the opportunity
to work with students from around the world. I probably
learned as much from my interaction with these co-workers
as I did from any other part of the job. This organization
has had great success since its creation in 2003, and I
see nothing but good things for it in the future.
